I was immediately drawn to this Curvy Kate bra when I first saw it, the Mulberry colour is definitely my cup of tea
and I loved the lace detailing, So when during a chat with the gorgeous BelleWren Lingerie they offered to send one to me, I was over the moon – I mean I think Melanie is amazing anyway but this cemented it 😉
I opted for a 36J as it’s a padded style and at the time I was wearing a Curvy Kate Ritzy in 36HH and definitely felt like I needed a bit more boob space and in briefs I stayed with my usual size 20. The bra is a padded balcony in black/mulberry, which is a sheer black mesh overlaying the mulberry base. It is a 3 part cup with vertical seam to provide a lifted, rounded shape.
I struggle with padded bras, they don’t tend to agree with my breast shape but I still try them because 1. I like to punish myself and 2. I’m hopeful I’ll find at least one to fit one day… anyway, as expected Trixie didn’t suit my shape unfortunately, I have too much upper boob for this bra however on a bottom heavy breast this would look amazing!
The colour is incredible, a rich plummy purple – the colour I’d love my hair to be if I’m honest. The lace detailing on the apex is stunning, makes the bra feel and look so expensive and this detail is echoed in the shortie brief too. The vertical seam means you get a gorgeous rounded shape from the bra so if you feel you have any lost fullness then I definitely recommend Trixie especially if you’re a fan of other Curvy Kate styles Ritzy or Tease.
The briefs are a shortie style in the same colours, I found these very comfortable but I do find Curvy Kate briefs often sit a little low on me and tend to be on my bikini line which isn’t my preference.
Overall I don’t think this set is right on me which I’m sad about but I found dealing with BelleWren an absolute dream. A guide to wearing my bra was included with my parcel which is amazing and the passion for good underwear shines through so I highly recommend shopping here!
