Lately I’ve been hearing people express envy at the fuller bust/plus size lingerie I’ve been wearing , actual jealously at the choices on offer for the bigger bust! This is a far cry from the “boring, ugly & beige” reputation of the past, so are curvy girls really getting it all in the lingerie world? let’s check out what’s actually on offer…
Before I begin, I want to clarify that I am a UK size 20(ish) and I typically wear a 36J/38HH. Everything I am showing on me is available to at least a HH cup and 38/40 band, if not beyond.
First up we have Sachi by Elomi, this truly is the bra of the season. We’ve seen it
Sachi by Elomi
everywhere and on everybody and with good reason – it’s sexy, it’s edgy, it has unrivalled support for big busts without compromising at all on design. Elomi are going from strength to strength with their designs and if you are curvy girl who hasn’t tried them out yet then I urge you to do so because you will not be disappointed. if you’re more a bright colour lover then they aren’t leaving you out; take a look at Kelly, Morgan or the stunning Neon pink Matilda.Elomi sizing is typically 32-46 bands and cups DD – K (style depending)
Next pick is a set I knew I had to have the minute I laid eyes on it, Dionne by Sculptresse is an absolute dream
and I am convinced it’s going to be the next Iconic set hitting our closets and instafeeds all summer long. It starts at a 36 band and runs to a 46 with cups in a DD-JJ. it mixes sheer panels with open space and printed cups giving it full on sex appeal in a very sophisticated way without taking anything away from the fit. I genuinely feel excited by this new Sculptresse addition as I think it’s showing us where plus size lingerie is heading and it’s definitely a direction I’m on board with!
Voodoo by Scantilly
I can’t talk about plus size options without giving a very big nod to Scantilly. The younger naughty sister of Curvy Kate produces the most lusted after sets every single season. There is nothing demure or subtle about their styles and I love that they don’t try to ‘cover up’ the wearer even in larger sizes but instead completely celebrate a woman’s right to wear whatever she likes. The set shown is Voodoo and comes in 30DD – 38HH. The briefs are an XL, I find the range is generously sized – especially the briefs as I typically wear a 3XL.
If all of the caging and cut outs aren’t for you then there is still plenty of choice on offer. The Elomi styles mentioned
Envy by Panache
above are just some but you also have sets like Envy by Panache which is a classic stylish set with incredible support and gives a beautiful natural rounded shape to the bust. I would also note Parfait have a great selection up to 44 band and J cup. Curvy Kate are continuing to produce fun, flirty sets up to a K cup and 44 band and for the fuller figured girls with a bit less bust then I can’t recommend the Rougette range enough for a choice of bras and bralettes to a 43 band & G cup ( the classic Tutti range goes to a HH cup but there is not as much choice, you can check out my reviews on a few of them here)
I know options have been limited in the past and it can feel like curvier girls still pay more for their bras and clothes but honestly when it comes to decent bra construction for heavier boobs, it can’t be done “on the cheap” I will probably write about this more in the future but for now, at least we have choice…. and for once we have the items others are jealous of, now isn’t that a cause for celebration!
p.s don’t forget Ana will be writing about lingerie choices in smaller band sizes very soon so we aren’t leaving you out! You can catch her latest review just here.
