I don’t have many babydolls and, if I’m honest, finding nice ones in my size is not always easy and even though they aren’t for “everyday wear” I still do prefer having the proper support of a bra-size fit.
I spotted this sunshine yellow “Marcie” from Cleo by Panache during some late night browsing and thought it was too good not to snap up.
I typically take a 36HH in Panache bras but the nearest size available was 38HH, however it was £21 and I decided I could make it work. As expected the band was too big so I have it fastened on the last hook and it does mean there’s some gaping in the cup but nothing I’d fuss over, especially as it’s not a bra. The cups run really deep which is perfect for me as it means the centre gore is really flat to the chest and the construction of the cups means my boobs feel very up & out and if you are buying a babydoll you kind of want your boobs looking their best… Though with 3 children I’ll possibly only ever get chance to wear it for these photographs, ha!
The back of the babydoll fastens like a standard bra but then opens up so there is only partial back and bum coverage, the matching briefs are super cute but unfortunately I couldn’t get hold of any in my size (I teamed it with some Curvy Kate briefs in lemon) the fabric is sheer with a same colour polka dot pattern and finished with a small pink bow between the cups. It’s such a vibrant yellow and screams fun and sass to me.
Overall I absolutely adore this piece and it definitely makes me want to buy a Marcie bra. I am a Panache fan anyway but I don’t have very many Cleo items at all and I think this is soon to change! I can’t recommend Marcie enough, especially if, like me, you struggle to find fuller bust items like this.
I purchased mine from Belle Lingerie and despite a few customer service ‘irks’ (which were resolved once I raised them) I would still recommend buying from here, they offer free standard delivery with paid returns and have a customer care team contactable by email, telephone or live chat.
