Curvy Kate recently launched their new style “Delightfull”. They say it’s a bra designed with the fuller bust in mind and has “cushion comfort” for the underarm. It sounded, well delightful, so I was keen to give a whirl when Curvy Kate very kindly sent it my way.
My first impressions were good. The bra looks nice, it has a lovely almost chequered fabric to the base of the cups which crosses over in the centre gore. The upper cups are a deep lace panel which gives the bra a pretty finish. The briefs are perfect, properly high waisted with the same fabric echoed from the bra. It was looking promising!
When I first put the bra on, I was quite happy. It felt comfortable, it looked nice and the fit seemed decent considering I’m not always great with Curvy Kate bras. Unfortunately, after a few more hours, I began to struggle with it. The cushion comfort tabs which are meant to give protect you from that underarm wire digging in kept flipping upwards and sort of pushing the wire into my body, the opposite of what I wanted from this feature. The bra wasn’t supporting my heavier bust and I felt it sort of slipping on my body and moving about. This could be because Delightfull is quite generously sized. I got a 38HH, but a 36 band would have been much better, possibly even a 34 to be honest.
The shape of Delightfull was also an issue on my body.
I have narrow root, full on top yet pendulous breasts. Delightfull is definitely designed more for a wider shallower breast and if you are that shape, I think it would work beautifully for you. Sadly, for me, the wires were too wide and dug in everywhere they could and the bra just didn’t quite hold the weight of my breasts. Meaning my boobs just looked kind of sad. At the cost of £37 I would expect a slightly sturdier fabric, I’m not a big fan of comparisons but if put it up against an Elomi Kim bra which is around £42 it doesn’t quite live up to it.
I do, however, adore the briefs. They are properly high waisted which is rare to find. I normally end up with high waist briefs hitting about 3 inches to low but these came right up where I wanted to. Very comfortable and look great too.
I hate really hate to be negative about products but I do also try to be very honest and although delightfull was not so delightful on me it genuinely would work brilliantly on somebody with a different shape bust. If your bust is wide set and shallow, then you should try it.
