I’ve recently felt that I’ve got stuck in a bit of a bra rut, basically wearing the same plain, moulded cup styles every day. Lamenting that I was bored and wanted to find a comfy but somewhat more exciting option for all day wear it was like my prayers had been answered when the awesome guys at Lazeme were lovely enough to send me the new Freya Taboo set to review.
Taboo has a very similar fit to Deco, with a plunge, moulded cup that gives excellent lift and shape, especially if you’re fuller on top like I am. The band is moderately firm but still has some stretch so it’s incredibly comfortable, while still providing good support. I usually wear a 28H or 30GG but for some reason in Deco I feel more comfortable sizing down a cup, so I went for a 30G in Taboo and the fit was perfect. It’s available in a 28D to a 38G which I think is a reasonable range, there is also a slightly different version of the Taboo which is modelled on the shape of the Pulse and that goes to a 38HH, for those that need a bigger cup. The cup itself is opaque as it’s moulded, which for me is a huge bonus as I can wear this bra for work without worrying about showing I’m cold (if you get what I mean!)
The real plus point of Taboo is the details, with a gorgeous embroidery pattern and black binding which takes this bra from functional to sexy. I absolutely adore the binding detail! It comes in one colourway, which is a caramel coloured mesh on caramel coloured moulded cup, with a black “tattoo” style embroidery. Now, I have many tattoos and I’m not sure how the detailing resembles tattoos at all but it is a really lovely pattern and makes the bra. The binding detail sits perfectly over the curve of my breasts and adds a really current, on trend touch.
The briefs echo the bra, with black strappy detail as well as the embroidery, and a gorgeous Brazilian style back which is not only flattering but also really comfortable. The briefs also come in a short option which gives the same sexy look at the front but fuller cover on the bum area, if you prefer a more covered derriere! The sizing of the briefs was spot on for me, I’m a 12 on the bottom and Lazeme sent me a M which is the equivalent sizing and perfect. There’s also a suspender which you can add if you would like to, the set is gorgeous without but would also look amazing if it was added.
I was looking for a comfortable set that had a bit more sex appeal than my plain daily bras and this has absolutely ticked all my boxes. I absolutely love the strap detail and the smooth moulded shape! I would love to see this set in more colourways, maybe red and black? Freya take note!
